Eight Packs Of Bowman Chrome Football Cards I Will Be Giving Away In Future Contests

Before I run off to work today I thought I put up one more post. In an effort to get enough merchandise together for my first world community grid research advertising blitz I have been buying more football and baseball cards. These are eight bowman chrome football card packs that I just bought yesterday. There are 7 cards in each factory sealed pack, of course if you pull a relic card or an autograph there might be fewer cards in that pack but that's pretty much what most people hope for when they tear open packs these days. I bought these in a blaster box but I wanted to open them to get rid of all the empty space that the cardboard box takes up. Don't worry, I'm not searching the packs, I just plan on only giving away three to five packs as prizes in most cases and I want to be able to keep all my sealed trading card packs and other sports packs in the treasure chest. I like this particular series of football cards because they have a lot of autograph and relic cards in them. Hopefully this box will have at least one pack with something interesting in it. Maybe you'll pull a rookie card that could be worth hundreds or even thousands in a few years.

I really have more than enough packs to launch this project but I like to have lots of variety for people to pick from as well. I have been hitting walmart about twice a week and every time I go through the checkout line I see the area where they keep all the retail packs and the blaster boxes. The shelves are packed full of merchandise from half a dozen types of sports. I just cant resist buying something when I see all this stuff, even though I know I could get a better deal online or even at a local card hobby shop. I just keep buying this overpriced stuff.

What's really bad is that most people by football cards and baseball cards because they love collecting trading cards or because they are a big fan of a particular sport and they like opening packs in the hopes of finding rookie cards or autograph cards of their favorite players or maybe just relic cards from their favorite teams. Some just do it because it's something they have enjoyed doing since they were kids or maybe they buy them for their own kids because they want to pass on the tradition of opening packs and pulling out great cards that they can keep and pass on to their grandchildren. I just buy these packs to give away. I buy them because I want to encourage people to run programs like world community grid on their computers so we can find cures for diseases.

For me it's a very strange obsession and I am fully aware that it is an obsession but there is a method to my madness. I know I could give away many things as prizes and that using something simple like gift cards would be much more affective in getting people interested but by giving away sports related merchandise  I have a chance to be part of a community of athletes and people involved in the sports entertainment community. You see by giving away football cards I can use different keywords in my posts and interact with athletes, coaches, trainers, sportscasters and sports fans on social media outlets. This gives me the potential to reach out to celebrities in the world of competitive sports and that could be huge for programs like world community grid and folding@home.

I'm really just trying to advertise grid computing and show its potential for finding cures for disease or at least finding new drugs that can alleviate human suffering. I think there is a great future for programs like these that let home users become part of the disease research community. If through my efforts I can increase the amount of people using this program by just one percent I will have accomplished something great.

For those of you that are truly interested in trying to help find cures for diseases like cancer or for the readers of this post that want to get some great sealed packs of football cards just read this post. You will need to be a member of my world community grid team and actively running the program if you want to win any of the prizes I will have up for grabs in the future. Please take the time to read through that post. I think it explains a lot to those that are unfamiliar with how grid computing works. If you have any other questions please don't hesitate to ask below in the comments.

Two Packs Of Magic The Gathering Avacyn Restored And One Pack Of Alara Reborn I'm Giving Away

Just adding a few packs of magic the gathering cards to the treasure chest today. I'm looking through some of the older booster packs I have to list and I'm amazed at what I have. I just wish I had some sealed packs from the first few years of magic the gathering. If I had some of those I could really get some members of the MTG community interested in running the grid program. Some of the cards in those early sets are worth thousands of dollars. Maybe someday I'll save enough money to buy some of them but I would need to buy a whole booster box and that can be very expensive.

Today I just have three packs to add to my treasure box. They are two packs of Avacyn Restored and one pack of Alara Reborn. The Alara Reborn set came out in April of 2009, these packs go for about five to ten dollars online depending on where you shop. Some of the best cards are Jenara Asura of War, Lord of Extinction, Sen Triplets and Sphinx of the Steel Wind but there are many more hidden gems in this series. I won't go into the higher end cards in the Avacyn Restored packs because these are still newer cards. Whatever might be in these packs I hope you all pull mythic rares when you open them.

Remember that if you want to own any of these packs you will have to be participating in one of my world community grid or folding at home contests. I don't have an active contest at the time of this post but when I do run my contests you must be an active member of one of my grid teams to even be able to try and win these magic the gathering booster packs. To learn how WCG works and to join my team please read this post. If you have any questions after reading this plese don't hesitate to ask them in the comment section of that blog post or this one. I am always checking my blogs for user comments and I will reply back very quickly. In addiction you can always contact me through my Facebook fan page. You can find the link to it in the right sidebar on this blog.

Keep watching this blog for future updates. I have many football and baseball packs that I will be posting pics of and adding to the prize pool. I also have many more vintage packs of magic the gathering to upload scans of. A huge giveaway will be coming soon as well, you will only need to run world community grid on your computer for a few days to participate. The only other requirement is that you have a YouTube and Facebook account. I will probably end up giving away hundreds of sealed packs of cards while I'm running this project so keep watching this blog for daily updates.

Eleven Packs Of Bowman Platinum Baseball Cards I'm Adding To The Treasure Chest

I'm planning on starting my first project soon. It will involve me finding people who will download the world community grid program and run it for a few days. Once they complete some data I will send them three packs of cards that they must display in a YouTube video. Once they do that they will be eligible to participate in a contest I will launch once I get 20-30 participants. I will be seeking out participants myself rather than allowing everyone who reads this blog to join. I'm doing it this way so I can get people who have a sizable audience on YouTube or Facebook.

I plan on launching three separate projects and in order to do this I need more packs of both baseball and football cards. I assume I will be able to purchase all the additional packs I need by the end of September or by early October at the latest. I'm already working on the drafts of four separate posts I need to make to bring this all together. Please have patience while I get everything together.

Today I bought some 2014 bowman platinum cards to add to the treasure chest in preparation for my first YouTube project launch. There were eight packs in a blaster box I bought and I had three more packs I bought last week for a total of eleven. Lets hope there are some nice relic cards or an autograph rookie in some of these packs.

Remember if you want to win some of these packs in the future or be a part of any of my contests you will have to be on my world community grid team.

42 Packs Of Donruss 1990 Baseball Cards I'm Giving Away

Recently I was going through some of the old baseball wax packs I have and I realized I had close to 100 packs of Donruss 1990 cards. This isn't anything to get excited about though because these are probably some of the most worthless cards you could own. That being said I really don't want to be sitting on these any longer so at some point in the future I will be running a contest for baseball packs only and these will just be bonus packs I throw out to go with the much better packs that will be the bulk of each prize package. I'm adding these to the treasure chest.

Keeping this post short as I bought some newer baseball packs today that I want to get up on this blog. If you want to get any of the sports packs I show pictures of on this blog you will need to be on my world community grid team. You can learn about the program by reading this post.

22 Packs Of Vintage 1990 Score Football Cards I'm Adding To The Treasure Chest

I'm going to keep this post short as this is just a repeat of the post I made just a few hours ago. Here is another lot of football cards I've been hoarding since I was a kid. I think I bought these when I was in the 8th grade or maybe when I was barely a freshman in high school. I was an impressionable young lad that thought these cards would make me rich some day. I probably paid about fifty cents a piece for these way back when and now they are probably worth half that. All kidding aside there are still some great cards in these. These can be fun to open when you don't have to worry about reducing the value of your cards plus you can find a few keepers like a Troy Aikman, Joe Montana or Kevin Butler along with a dozen or so other cards. Until these sealed vintage packs make it into your hands they will be added to the treasure chest.

If you are interested in adding some of these cards to your collection or you just want to help with my cancer research project just visit this link below and read up about how world community grid works.

Nineteen Packs Of Vintage 1991 Bowman Football Cards I'm Adding To The Treasure Chest

Way back in the late 80s and early 90s I went to the local hobby shop and spent a few hundred dollars on boxes of football, baseball and basketball cards. It was a lot of money for a kid like me. I thought it was a good investment though. I figure by the time I became an old man I would at the very least be able to buy a house. Unfortunately for me the time that I bought these was during the years that the card industry overprinted its merchandise. If I would have just spent a little more money and bought vintage cards from the 60s and 70s I would be sitting pretty right now.

Right now if you factor in inflation most of the older packs of cards I have are worth less than what I paid for them back in the day. That's not to say that they don't have value and now that I can can give these away in my world community grid project I can find people to dump my old wax packs on. You can pretty much pick these packs up online for less than a dollar each and you will probably be tossing a lot of these cards in the trash because over printing means that they will never be worth anything, however the good cards still have some value so maybe you can grab an Emmitt Smith, John Elway, Barry Sanders or Joe Montana to add to your collection. I would say there are about 20 cards you could pull from one of these packs that would be worth sticking in a toploader. Maybe you will just keep these packs in a safe place or give them to your kids. One idea might be to open them on a youtube video, if you;re into vintage cards it could be a good conversation piece for some of your viewers. For now these will sit in my treasure chest until they are pulled for prizes or bonuses.

Whatever you do just be sure to join my world community grid team because by running this program you are actually helping find cures for many diseases and getting a reward or some free packs of cards is just a bonus. The real benifit is living in a future were disease like cancer are just a memory. Visit this link below to learn how the program works and if you have any questions at all don't be affraid to ask.

Seven Packs Of Topps 2012 Series On Baseball Cards And One Pack Of 2013 Series One I'm Giving Away

I was going through the cardboard box that I keep my packs in before I list them on this blog and I realized that I still have some of the baseball packs that I bought in the bargain bin at walmart. I only paid a dollar for each of these but there might be some good cards in these packs and I need to get them in the treasure chest anyway.

There are seven packs of topps 2012 series one baseball cards here and one pack of 2013 series one. I don't know if these will go very fast or not. Even if they don't they will appreciate in value as they age so I'm sure sooner or later someone will grab them as a bonus pull in a contest. If they sit in the chest for years I might just pull them and use them as automatic bonus packs to contest winners.

If you want to be eligible to win sealed packs of cards like these you need to be a member of my world community grid team. You can learn how to join and see some frequently asked questions here.

Three Packs Of Bowman 2014 Baseball Cards I'm Adding To The Treasure Chest

I took a trip to walmart a few weeks ago and I picked up a pack of bowman baseball cards while I was doing my grocery shopping. I bought one of the three pack value deals. I like these for two reasons. They make it hard for pack searchers to go through cards and pull out the packs that have hits in them and they come with three special border cards that are also sealed in plastic. I get to give these packs away and I still have the chase cards to do something with in the future. Of course I will probably give these away at some point as well but it gives me extra value with my purchase. I also bough three more packs today of what I thought were 2014 bowman cards but I'm so blind that they turned out to be some other series that are produced by topps. I really have no idea what they are and I can't find an image of these packs online so I guess I will have to wait until I can do more research and post these once I know for sure what they are. For now I will just put the bowman cards in the treasure chest.

On a side not I miscounted the number of cards we have in the treasure chest. I actually have about ten more pack in total than what I had listed. I swear my brain doesn't work right anymore. I corrected the mistake and now we have close to 200 sealed packs.

I plan on getting a contest together soon so make sure you are on my world community grid team if you want to participate. Visit this link to learn more.

Three Packs Of World Of Warcraft Cards From War Of The Ancients I'm Giving Away In Future Contests

These are some sealed packs of World of Warcraft cards from War of the Ancients I picked up a year or two ago. At the time I had some friends that were playing it and they mentioned how hard to get and expensive the packs were. I guess that's why I bought them on a whim. Now that I've had time to check out these packs online I see that this TCG has been discontinued by the manufacturer. I also see that prices on boxes have fallen significantly. One the one hand this will become a dead table top gaming platform but on the other it will become highly collectible to a select group of hardcore fans. I'm wondering if I should buy a couple of big boxes of these packs just to save for a future contest that will just revolve around the WoW community. For now these packs will go in the treasure chest.

I don't know if I will do that or hold onto the funds I have now. My amazon balance is actually pretty low right now. I have less than $100 in my account. With all the cards I have now it would probably be best to hold of on any purchases until I get rid of some of the merchandise I have now.

I don't have a contest going on right now but if you want to be in a position to win any of these packs you must be running the world community grid program on your computer during the contest period. You can download it through this link

Three Packs Of Magic The Gathering Nemesis And Six Packs Of 2012 Core Set I'm Adding To The Treasure Chest

I'm putting together another post with some magic the gathering booster packs. I want to get some more of these up before I start running contests. In the first pic I have three sealed packs of an older series. These are Nemesis. The Nemesis set came out in February of 2000. There are not a lot of high priced cards in this set from the research I've done but there are some that can go for over $10. Look for Kor Haven, Tangle Wire and Submerge.

The second set of cards are from the 2012 magic the gathering core set. I have six of these. They are only about two years old at the time I'm posting this but they have already risen in value from the day I purchased them.

All of these sealed booster packs are being added to the treasure chest. It's getting really big now. I'm getting close to having 200 packs in it. The first contest for cards will be launched soon.

If you want to be a part of the process that will let you win some of these cards you must be a member of my world community grid team. The following post answers some commonly asked questions about what world community grid is.

One Pack Of 2013 Topps Platinum Football Cards And One Pack Of 2010 Panini Crown Royal I'm Giving Away

This is going to be a really short post because I only have two packs of football cards to post right now. One of these came in the big variety pack box I bought at walmart a few days ago and the other I won in an online auction. Both packs will be added to the treasure chest.

The first pack is 2013 topps platinum. There are 5 cards in this pack and I feel that these are higher quality cards than your standard packs, not top shelf or anything but I'm sure this will go fast once it's up for grabs.

The second sealed football pack is one I won on a listia auction. It's a pack of 2010 panini crown royal football cards. These have a high chance of having relic and auto cards in them and the seller says this is a guaranteed relic card so who knows what might be in it. There are 5 cards in this sealed pack as well.

I don't have a contest ready to run yet but I have an interesting youtube project that will lead up to my first contest. I should have a post up about it in less than a week.

Learn more about what I'm doing in this post.

Eight Packs Of 2012 Panini Threads Basketball Cards I'm Adding To The Treasure Chest

Today I decided it was time to add some basketball cards to the treasure chest since I don't have any yet. I went out and bought a 2012 panini threads basketball blaster box. I decided to open this and scan them because I want to give them away as individual factory sealed packs. There are eight of these packs with ten cards in each, you will have a chance of getting relic cards and autograph cards. I'm getting low on funds to buy more cards but I should be able to pick up more baseball and basketball cards within the next month or two. I am lacking in merchandise for these sports so I want to bulk up just a little bit.

I am also working on putting together the first contest. I will be trying to keep it local in my own city. I live in the Evansville area of Indiana. I want to do this to avoid paying a lot of shipping fees. I will allow a few people on YouTube from other areas to participate though. I will seek these people out myself because I want people that are active in the hobby. There will be a comment contest for a few packs though and anyone in that lives in the USA can try and win these. I will even ship these packs to Hawaii or Alaska if you win one in the comment contest.

Before I start the contest I will have to work on getting participants. I will make a post about this on the endthedisease blog.

For now download the world community program and run it so you will be ready for future contests.

Nine Packs Of Prizm 2013 Football Cards I Bought To Give Away In Future Contests

I know I haven't made a post on this blog in at least a week but I've been busy and I've really just been waiting to get the search engine traffic coming in before I really go any further with this. I don't know what wrong but it's never taken me this long to get indexed by the major search engines. I will probably concentrate on building up my social media sites and posting on my endthedisease blog until I can see some outside traffic to this blog.

Until then here are 9 packs of 2013 prizm football cards I bought at walmart this weekend. These are the 4 card retail packs. I think these will go in the treasure chest which is starting to fill up with lots of sealed packs of cards. I'll try to take a picture of the big plastic storage unit I'm keeping them in when I get a chance. These came in packs of three with chase cards in each one. I will save the chase cards to give away as well but they will be kept separate. I will also make a different blog post for these. I also bought a couple of older packs of cards in an online auction a few days ago and I already got them in the mail today. I'll have a post coming up that will show you what they are. As I said I will be concentrating more on my other blogs until I start to see some organic search engine traffic from this one so I will probably only be doing one or two posts a week here until that happens. I'm sorry I can't do more but I need to concentrate on my other projects for now.

Six Packs Of Magic The Gathering Innistrad And Five Packs Of Return To Ravnica That Are Going In The Treasure Chest

Before I leave for work today I'm trying to scramble to get this post up. I haven't updated this blog in a few days but I have added a post to the main blog. It's a Talia Joy tribute post that I meant to make on the anniversary of her passing but I missed it by about a week. Go check it out and be sure to give me as much social media love as possible on that blog because I really need to grow the main blog if I'm going to get this project up and running. Right now neither of these blogs have any legs because they are still so knew, I'm an experienced blogger though and I know it will be three to four months before I see real organic search engine growth now that I am posting on a weekly basis. Expect to see regular posts on this blog but mostly I want to focus my efforts on my other blog because it will be a hub for all the activity going on with my world community grid and folding@home projects.

In these scans we have more magic the gathering sealed booster packs. I pulled out six packs of Innistrad and 5 packs of Return To Ravnica to add to the treasure chest this time. Both of these blocks are becoming very popular and are rising in price per pack and per box so these will be ones you want to grab if you get the chance. That should be all of my MTG cards that are less than 3 years old unless I buy some new ones. I still have many older vintage packs that I will be posting in the coming weeks. I hope to get most of them up by the end of the month.

If you want a chance to win these packs while at the same time helping to find cures for disease like cancer you should download the world community grid program here.
http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/reg/viewRegister.do?teamIDha=2H274R71S1

Then you need to join team Endthedisease. After that just let it run on your computer. You will not even notice it's there. Visit this blog regularly for contest start dates.

3 Magic The Gathering Booster Packs Of Planeshift, Onslaught And Conflux I'm Adding To The Treasure Chest

As I promised last week I am going through some of my older magic the gathering booster packs and placing them in the treasure chest. A lot of these are very old but in many cases I only have one pack of each. If there is a demand for older MTG booster packs I will try to purchase some more online.

The first pack we have is Planeshift. This came out in February of 2001 so a really old booster pack here. These packs go for about $8-$10 these days but sometimes they are much more expensive. Cards to look for are Orim's Chant, Lord of the Undead and Meddling Mage.

The second pack I scanned is from Onslaught which came out in  October of 2002. These go for about $15-$20 per booster pack from what I have seen. Cards that go for crazy prizes are Polluted Delta, Windswept Heath, Goblin Piledriver and Flooded Strand. All of these can be over $30 cards.

The third and last pack shown here is Conflux which had its debut in February of 2009 so it's not very old compared to the other packs listed here. Look for Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker and the Progenitus cards in this pack.

That's all the MTG sealed packs I have to list for now. I did have more I wanted to put in this post but I had a problem with my scanner. Hopefully I can get more up tomorrow.

If you want a chance to win these cards it's easy as pie. Just read through this post I'm linking to below and you should have an idea of what to do.

4 Packs Of Score 2013 Football Cards And 2 Packs Of Topps Strata I'm Placing In The Treasure Chest

I'm pulling out some more football cards that I got from the walmart variety box I bought. I'm adding these to the treasure chest. The chest is getting pretty full now. I will probably reach over a 150 factory sealed packs by early next week. I guess I really need to get around to launching the first contest. I'm working on this behind the scenes. You guys can't really see what I'm doing but I'm in talks with several big sports hobby forums. Many of these sites have thousands of visitors a day and I'm hoping to lower the number of cards in my possession very soon. I'm also going to be concentrating on making more posts on the main blog. The endthedisease blog really needs more work, I can do a lot more serious posts there that explain more about what I'm doing. I will also do a lot of posts about cancer as a disease and how we can work towards a cure. I might even gets some guests posts from people in the research community or posts from cancer research advocates. Just be on the lookout for a lot of new content on that blog. I will still be posting here but just not as often as before.

For this post we have four packs of Panini Score football cards from the 2013 season. There are twelve cards in each pack with a chance to pull rookie signatures.

Next up we have two packs of Topps Strata 2013 football cards. These are great cards and there are six individual cards in each sealed pack. Wouldn't it be great to pull a Geno Smith low numbered autograph card out of one of these packs? You might think it's possible to pull a card like that out of a reatail pack but I have seen it happen before.

If you want to try and win some of these cards in the near future all you have to do is follow the simple instructions below. This will only take a minute or two to set up.

First you need to run the world community grid disease research program. You can download it through this link.

Click this second link and join team Endthedisease. It's really that easy. Now just keep visiting this blog and wait for the next contest to begin.

11 Packs Of 2013-2014 Score Panini NHL Cards And 7 Packs Of Prizm Cards I'm Adding To The Treasure Chest

Today I picked up some blaster boxes of NHL cards but I decided to pen them and put the sealed hockey card packs into the treasure chest for random pulls and for the comment contests. I'm not a big fan of hockey but I do have some friends online that are obsessed with the sport. I know more than a couple of guys in Canada that will want to try and win some of these.

The score cards are from the 2012-2013 season and there were eleven packs in the blaster box along with a clear see-thru pack that looks like it has three cards in it. I don't know if this is a hit pack or just base cards as I can't see what the third card is. I will keep it safe and use it as a bonus prize at some point in the future. There are twelve cards in each of these packs and there is a chance for autograph cards with these.

The prizm cards are from the same NHL season as above. There are seven packs here with four cards in each pack but you can always pull an autograph from one of these packs.

As far as hockey goes I will not be adding as many packs from this sport as I do for football or baseball. The main reason is that I like to try and focus on the types of sports that are most popular in America. I will mostly be shipping to the 50 U.S states to save on shipping. I will try to ship to Canada at some time and if the costs of mailing cards isn't too high then I might start purchasing more Hockey cards.

As always to win some of these great prizes you need to be running world community grid. You can still win a few packs from commenting during a contest but the big prizes are for running this program and doing disease research that could lead to cures for cancer. http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/reg/viewRegister.do?teamIDha=2H274R71S1

This second link allows you to join team Endthedisease. You need to be a member of this team so I can calculate your points and see who wins when a contest is running. http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/team/viewTeamInfo.do?teamId=2H274R71S1

8 Packs Of Panini Prestige Football Cards For 2013 I Bought To Add To The Treasure Chest

I'm doing one more quick post before I go to bed. I have to work tomorrow so I wanted to get this done tonight in case I don't have enough time to add more cards before I go in. I've got eight packs of Panini prestige football cards from 2013. I believe this was the year when their base cards had the all white backgrounds which wasn't too appealing to me but all their insert cards looked awesome. In the past prestige has put out some really beautiful cards and they have the advantage of being among the first product to hit the market each year that shows new rookies in their player uniforms. If you want a chance to get the first ever autograph card of a freshly drafted player these are cards you want to buy. I will be adding all of these packs to the treasure chest and I'm thinking of buying even more of these early next month.

If you want to win these cards while helping find cures for diseases like cancer and HIV then you need to visit this link and read the majority of this post. It should explain to you what I'm doing or at least give you an idea of what you need to do. If you have any questions feel free to comment on that post or in the comment section below this one.

4 Packs Of Panini Football 2013 Prizm Cards I Got In A $20 Variety Box I Bought At Walmart That I'm Adding To The Treasure Chest

I've just bought another value pack box at walmart. Finally they have some football cards. I swear I went into work yesterday and walked across the street to see if they had anything new before my shift started. I didn't see any kind of mix pack football boxes but 12 hours later when I got off they had just one 13 pack box left. I guess they must have put a bunch of them out while I was on the clock and they had already sold them all but the last one. These are great variety packs to get if you see them on sale. They only run about twenty bucks and you get mostly high end packs that have high hit ratios. The only thing I don't like about them is the sticky glue they use to keep the front cards stuck against the cardboard. This is to insure that the best three packs in the box remain viewable by the customer. Unfortunately some of the glue remains on the packs so you end up with two or three packs that are going to stick together if you try to store them like I do. When I place these in the treasure chest I will just wrap a piece of paper around them. I have never had a problem with this adhesive hurting the cards inside the pack though. They will be just fine when you open them.

I'm going to split the packs up and make three separate blog posts for them. It's an excuse for me to have more activity on this blog and it will great more search engine food for Google. If you are reading this in late July I am still waiting to get this blog picked up by the search engines. I've had many blogs in the past and I really don't get motivated until I see the traffic coming in from the big search engines.

So from the variety pack I bought I've scanned the four packs of Panini 2013 prizm cards that were in the box. I know that the 20 pack hobby boxes guarantee you will get two autograph cards and I have seen people pulling signed rookie cards out of packs they got in variety boxes just like this one unboxing videos on the web. I also know that you get at least one rookie card in each of the bigger packs but since these are 4 card packs I don't know if you'll pull one in every pack. I assume not as that would be a rookie card in every four cards but who knows. No matter what you get these prizm football cards look great and have really nice borders on the cards. Some of the cards are low numbered die cuts and you could pull some valuable limited edition cards and maybe even an autograph rookie from the 2013 season.

As always if you want the best chances of getting these cards you need to be running the world community grid program on your computer. Download it below. It's easy and I promis you won't get any popups on this site and there is no danger of viruses.

6 Packs Of Magic The Gathering Fifth Dawn And 2 Packs Of Odyssey I'm Adding To The Treasure Chest

As of today I'm trying to move into some older magic the gathering booster packs. I have well over fifty factory sealed MTG booster packs that are all five to ten years old and some might even be older. I will try to date these and give you an idea of what is inside them but in many cases I have never opened packs that are this old so I'll have to do some research online as I type out these posts. Check out the treasure chest page to see a full list of all the sealed packs I have up for grabs as of today.

I'm still scanning items as I don't have a portable camera or a smartphone right now. I do own one HD camera but it has to stay plugged into my laptops USB drive to work and the cord is only a few feet long so I really can't get good lighting with it. In this scan you can see that I have several sealed packs of Fifth Dawn and Odyssey. Fifth Dawn came out way back in June of 2004. Most of your high value cards are going to be around the ten dollar mark with this set but there are cards that go as high as $30. Some of the best cards to look for from this block are Crucible of Worlds, Engineered Explosives and Vedalken Shackles. These older packs are getting harder to find every day so you might want to scoop these up if you get the chance or better yet get them for free by competing in one of my upcoming world community grid contests.

Odyssey came out in September of 2001 so at the time of this post these cards are already thirteen years old. The most expensive card in this set goes for around $50. When you rip these packs look for Entomb, Standstill and Terravore. There are of course tons of other cards that have a high listing price and these are great cards to hold onto if you want to watch their value rise.

I hope those of you reading this post will seriously consider joining my world community grid team. I know I haven't explained in great detail how these contests will work but hopefully you realize that value of a program that allows you to do disease research with your own computer that could lead to cures for some forms of cancer. World community grid has been involved in children's cancer research for many years and recent finished projects have shown positive results that could lead to a new drug that might be the cure for neuroblastoma, one of the most deadly childhood cancers.

Start doing your part to help find future cures for multiple diseases. Every computer can help. Download the program through this link.

I know I lied about going to bed but I know I want have any time to post scans for the next 24 hours or so and I want to get most of my newer cards up so I can concentrate on getting some sleep. I believe these are the last of my Avacyn Restored and Dark Ascension booster packs. If you want to get these cards you just need to run world community grid and be on my team. I think the link below should explain what you need to do. I'm just too tired to make a long wordy post like I usually do.

6 Packs Of Magic The Gathering Mirrodin Besieged And 6 Packs Of Scars Of Mirrodin For The Treasure Chest

I have twelve packs of Magic the Gathering booster packs to add to the treasure chest today. It's early and I'm actually just going to bed right now because I work third shift. I wanted to scan these packs of Mirrodin Besieged and Scars of Mirrodin to get up on the blog before I pass out. I will probably be working a long shift today and into tomorrow so I don't know if I'll be able to post any new stuff for the next two days or so after this. I have a lot of amazing packs I want to show you later in the week though. Hopefully I can squeeze in a post Thursday and if not I'll make up for it this weekend.

Remember if you want to try and get these cards in a future contest you must try to join my world community grid team.

First download the program. It should install by itself. Remember as you run this on your computer you are helping find cures for human diseases.

8 Packs Of New Phyrexia And 8 Packs Of 2013 Magic The Gathering Core Set Booster Packs I'm Adding To The Treasure Chest

Today we have eight packs of New Phyrexia and eight booster packs of 2013 core set. Yes, I know I am a little crazy but I have decided to put all my loose magic the gathering booster packs into the treasure chest. That means you can probably expect at least another 10 blog posts about MTG packs this month. The good news is that these are mostly older packs and some might be more than 10 years old and contain high value cards. The bad news is that in most cases I only have two or three packs from each series. Still, you will see lots of great magic booster packs that you will be longing for. I hope to titillate you into joining my world community grid team so you will start completing work units and be ready for my future contests. I also have more than enough sealed booster boxes and unopened deck packs that I can use for main contest prizes so keep visiting this blog daily or at least weekly for new updates.

Have you noticed that my scans look funny? I think it's because I'm left handed so I started facing the cards in the other direction. Do they look a little better? The background is black because I don't like closing the lid and taking a chance of slightly bending or edging the cards. I am one of those mint condition card freaks that always eyes your cards for fifteen minutes before I agree to a trade at a tournament. It's hilarious to watch I'm told. Probably because I'm almost blind and I like to use a mini magnifier glass to check out the condition of the cards before I buy or trade them. Maybe one day I will film this process and it will become comedy gold for the YouTube magic the gathering community.

Anyway I know somebody out there is looking at these booster packs with envious eyes so why the heck aren't you guys joining my world community grid team? It's super easy and you might even end up helping cure a disease or something. I know I tend to babble on a lot but I think in the long run that will just be good for search engine traffic. When I'm in contest mode I will be much more specific in the way I explain things.

Click this link and do the easy one minute download. The software will run automatically. This is run directly by Stanford University which is one of the most renown schools of learning in the whole of the 50 states. So you know you can trust this link, Once you install it you won't have to ever worry about it again. It will run by itself every time you turn on your computer and uses very little of your systems resources.

10 Packs Of Magic The Gathering Dark Ascension And 5 Packs Of Innistrad I'm Adding To The Treasure Chest For Contest Pulls

I looked into my big box of magic the gathering sealed booster packs and pulled these out. I'm actually surprised at how many of these I have. I will be pulling a few more from some older sets to make a few more posts but after that I will stop. I don't want the treasure chest to get too full because I want to hold most of my MTG cards back as prizes for the main world community grid crunching contests. I still haven't decided yet if I want the first contest to be sports related or magic cards. Both Dark Ascension and Innistrad are good packs to get a hold of. I think I have added around 30 booster packs to my chest in the last few days. I hope you guys are thinking about joining my world community grid team so you can win some of this stuff. I have only had a few new members sign up since I started this but this blog is still only a few weeks old so I know I'm just getting started. I haven't even really seen any search engine traffic yet. Hopefully by this time next month things will have picked up a bit. I might pull out some mythic rare and rare single cards I have in my old collection too and scan and post them here as possible bonus prizes. I just haven;t figured out exactly how I want to do that just yet.

Hurry up and join my world community grid team so you will be ready to compete for the big prizes when the contests actually start. I have a lot of members but most of them are inactive so it should be easy for anyone to win when the first few contests start running. Download it here.

Im Adding 8 Packs Of Magic The Gathering Scars Of Mirrodin And 4 Packs Of Avacyn Restored To The Treasure Chest

I've got even more Magic the Gathering cards to add to the treasure chest. I have eight packs of Scars of Mirrodin and four packs of Avacyn Restored. I bought some of these as retail packs from walmart. Some people prefer not to buy single packs this way because they sell for about a dollar more than you can get them at your local hobby store but I've found that there are actually better cards in these packs. Some of these also came from a big lot of miscellaneous sealed packs I bought from Troll and Toad online. Hopefully whoever wins these from treasure chest pulls will end up with some good cards. I hope you all get rares from these.

From the Scars of Mirrodin packs you could pull some pretty sweet cards. This series came out way back in October of 2010 so a lot of the rares have had time to rise in value. Some great cards worth looking out for are Koth of the Hammer, Myr Reservoir, Mox Opal, Venser the Sojourner, Elspeth Tirel and Sword of Body and Mind but there are many other great cards that are valued at $10 or more plus you will have lots of great cards to add to your playing deck and a great story to tell about how you got them.

Avacyn Restored came out in December 2012 so this series has already had some time to mature. Some cards you might be smiling to get are Tamiyo the Moon Sage, Temporal Mastery, Tibalt the Fiend-Blooded, Avacyn Angel of Hope and Sigarda Host of Herons. Of course there are many other great rares in this set but I won't try to name them all here. Lets just hope you get a lot of great cards when you open these and hopefully some of them will be foils.

Remember, if you want a chance to get these cards you will want to run world community grid on your computer. Download it here.

10 Packs Of Magic The Gathering Return To Ravnica And 3 Packs Of Dragons Maze I'm Adding To The Treasure Chest For Future Contests

I actually have a ton of Magic the Gathering cards in sealed packs that I have been amassing over the past three years. I was thinking about starting an online store at one point but I thought it would be even better to give some of them away in my world community grid contests for human disease research.  I don't know for sure how many packs I have but with the unopened booster boxes and loose packs I have there must be at least 250 packs altogether. I actually probably have a lot more than that. Some of these were bought at walmart but most were bought from online retail sites. Most of the Return to Ravnica packs pictured here were bought at a local comic book and gaming store here in Evansville called the Book Broker.

I have a lot of ideas for starting some contest around just MTG cards. I might run some things on my YouTube channel or I might do some Facebook contests. I might find some brick and mortar stores and do contests with just there customers but also have the comment contest so everyone on the Internet can participate. I also thought about working closely with one of the local shops that hosts Friday night magic tournaments. I know there are at least two places in town that have a fairly large customer base for these events and with the amount of cards I have I could probably help start a new weekly event at one of the shops that doesn't even do tournaments.

In the coming months I will make many blog posts to show off all the Magic the Gathering product that I am basically giving away for free so be sure to add this blogger site to your favorites or bookmark it.

Many of the prizes I will be giving away in contests will be through data crunching contests on my world community grid team. You will need to be running this simple program that lets your computer do cancer and other disease research that could lead to cures. Download it here.

Six Packs Of Factory Sealed Baseball Cards I Bought From Value Packs At Walmart To Add To The Treasure Chest For Future Contest Prizes

I've been buying a few of the three pack repacks they have for sale at walmart lately. These are three packs of miscellaneous baseball cards for three dollars. Because of the way they are packed you can usually see what series two of the packs are from. The third pack will be a mystery until you open the cardboard flap that is glued to the back. For the most part the cards will be in good shape and from some decent series from the last 3-10 years or so. Sometimes an old pack from the 80s or 90s will be thrown in as the third unseen pack which you might be happy or upset to get depending on what it is. I got a 1988 big baseball card pack that was torn open so I had to use some tape on it. I wasn't very happy about that but it happens sometimes in these value grabs. Be sure to try and check for bending in the packs before you buy and get them early before they have all been searched through for the best packs.

This is what I got from the two $3 value packs I bought.

1x Topps Big Baseball 2nd Series 1988
1x Tristar Projections 2008
1x Upperdeck 2008 First Edition Update
1x Upperdeck 2007 Series One
1x Topps Chrome 2008
1x Topps 2007 Opening Day

All in all not bad packs for the low price. I just wish I could find football cards or any other sports cards in cheap repacks like this. Where do you guys get your value packs at or do you even but them?

If you want a chance to get these cards you need to learn about how world community grid works. Check out this link for more information.

8 Sealed Packs Of Topps 2012 Baseball Series One I Grabbed On Sale To Add To The Treasure Chest For Future Contest Pulls

I got these on sale at walmart a few months ago but I'm just now getting around to scanning them and putting them in the treasure chest. I know many of you will be moaning about buying retail packs at all and will be even less happy that these are in the bargain bin but I honestly don't think we have a lot of card searchers in my town. Even if we do there could still be some autographs in these and of course you still have rookie cards you can pull from opening these. I'm also just getting use to using my scanner. I had to reduce the size of this scan in order to save room for images on this blog. It's amazing how much detail you can see on a pack when you use the maximum setting on your scanner. You can really see how many hands have been touching these as they lay in the bargain bin. Still, the cards seem to be in good shape inside the packs to me. I always look to see if they look bent at all before I buy anything that's out in the open like these packs.

I will be adding lots of stuff to the treasure chest. Some packs will be high end and others will be middle of the road or even sales bin packs, remember though these will be used in the comment part of the contest but also as bonus prizes so they won't affect the quality of the world community grid or folding@home grid crunching prizes.

This link should at least give you a basic idea of what I'm trying to do. I will have my first contest coming soon so at the very least keep watching this blog for updates.

A 2012 Score Football Hobby Box Of 36 Packs I Bought To Use As Prizes In Future World Community Grid Contests

Here is another 36 pack football NFL hobby box I bought to distribute cards to winners of my world community grid contests. I picked this up for about 30 bones which is pretty much the standard price but it can go for as high as $50 if you don't do your research before purchasing. There are 7 cards in each sealed pack and there are chances for autograph cards including highly sought after rookie cards from this year of printing. Serial numbered cards as well as 1/1 printing plates might be found when you rip open these packs, however there are no odds of these cards printed on the box which leads me to believe that the odds of pulling hit cards are not that high. You can see this as the odds of pulling something really nice being very low if you pick this prize or that if you do pull something you have a card that is more rare.

All this being said these are still score cards and I realize that people don't like score as much as other cardboard producers in the business. I use to buy a ton of these when I was a kid and the cards are have are still in great condition 20 years later. I think I will probably pull five packs per prize option if you choose this as your winning item. If they don't move I will end up sticking most of them in the treasure chest.

On a personal note, I've been very sick lately and that's why I haven;t been making a lot of blog posts. Without going into too much detail I have gone through a whole box of tissues and a lot of flu medicine. I missed a day of work but I'm hoping to make it in Friday. Feeling a little better today so lets hope this is going away. I will probably get a few more posts up in the next two or three days.

You want to win some of these cards? There will be contests running soon. They will be hosted on my Facebook fan-page or my YouTube channel or maybe just right here on this blog. You will have a chance to get 1 or 2 single packs just by commenting on these contests but if you want to get the bigger 5-10 pack prizes you must be using the world community grid application on your computer or smart phone.

Download the program and do the 60 second install through this first link. Once it's running you won't even know it's there.

Two Sealed Packs Of 2006 Benchwarmer Cards I Got For Free In A Listia Auction That I'm Adding To The Treasure Chest

I won these two benchwarmer world cup packs about three weeks ago in a listia auction. I sell amazon gift codes that I get from swagbucks to get these items. If you sign up under me on this site I get a cut of your earnings that I will use to buy more items for my disease research contests. These are from 2006 and there are 5 cards in each pack. If you've never heard of Benchwarmers these are cards of pin up models and B movie actresses in attractive poses. Don't worry, they are pretty much PG-13 so parents shouldn't have anything to worry about. I picked these up because I like to have a wide variety of stuff available for my contests. Each series of cards has a theme to it like Las Vegas girls or hot for teacher. This particular series has a sporty theme as do most of these types of hobby cards. You have a chance of pulling some autograph  and insert cards from these packs. Often the really rare cards will be relic type cards that have a piece of clothing or shoe in them. Some sets of cards also have kiss cards where the model has kissed the card. Some of the rarer cards will be numbered as low as 1/1.

I am putting these sealed packs in what I like to call the treasure chest. It's really just a cardboard shoebox but in the long run I'd like to have some nice looking chest or locker to put them in. Maybe I will get something that looks like a real pirates treasure chest. The treasure chest will serve two purposes. I will fill it with tons of random hobby packs from every sport along with a fair amount of non-sport packs. I will use this chest to pull packs for people that comment on videos and posts that I'm running a contest on. You will comment and then you will get one entry. Once the contest is over I will use a random listing program to pick the winners. This program will shuffle the list and set one name at the top and that will be the winner of the single pack. Usually there will be 5-10 comment winners in each contest. In addition I will sometimes give bonus pack to people that win the main prizes for running the world community grid program. In some cases I will let you pick the packs from the chest and sometimes I will grab them myself without looking. Here is a list I keep of what is in the treasure chest. Remember to join my world community grid team below if you want to be eligible for these packs and lots of other great sports and non-sports hobby packs.

Download the program here. It will only take one minute and the program should start running automatically. It will also run by itself every time you start your computer.

A 2009-2010 Upperdeck Dual Rookie NBA Relic Card Numbered 13/99 Featuring Brandan Wright Of The Warriors And Jason Smith Of The 76ers

This is a card I won from a listia auction I bid on about a month ago. I thought it would be nice to start picking up some single relic and autograph cards to give away in future contests. This was kind of an impulse buy. I mostly want to deal with cards that are valued at over $10 in the future but I so want a few lesser value cards as well. I was honestly too lazy tonight to take a pic of the card but it looked great to me so I just took the pick from the listia auction and pasted the front and back images of the card together to make this blog post. The seller took a little longer than normal to ship and so they offered to send me a bonus card. I don't know if it was for this reason or because I told them about what I was doing with my world community grid and folding@home project but they sent me a nice Kobe Bryant die cut card. I'm not going to take a pic of it but I will post an image to the same card at the end of this post. Anyway I'd like to thank listia user misterBill for his generosity as I believe that card is probably worth more than the card I won in this auction. Both of these cards will be up for grabs at some point in future contest but for now I want to concentrate on building up my collection of singles so that winners will have something to choose from. If you are looking at auctions on listia be sure to look up this great seller. I have seen him post some great football, baseball and basketball cards in some of his recent listings but I don't have enough points to try to get them right now. Maybe next month after I sell some amazon gift codes I can try to win more auctions. So lets have a look at the details of this card.

The Card
This is a dual relic card and the jerseys are game used. If you're getting a jersey card without an autograph you will at least want it to be a game worn jersey card. This is also a rookie card for these players. It's a low numbered card with the serial numbers below 100. It's an Upperdeck card, I'd rather it be Topps but that's ok. All in alll it's a good card but nothing that is going to go skyward in value in my opinion.

The Players
Brandan Wright was playing for the Warriors at the time this card was printed, now he is with the Dallas Mavericks. He suffered from some injuries early in his rookie career and wasn't able to reach his full potential as a player but there is still time for him to shine with the Mavericks. He actually has had some pretty good stats in his last two years as a player, nothing outstanding but this card should at least retain it's value with him on it.

Jason Smith is another player that was traded early in his career. He was drafted by Miami but was quickly traded to the Philadelphia 76ers. He now plays for the New Orleans Pelicans. He is another player with decent stats averaging almost 10 points a game but again nothing outstanding.

And here is an image of the Kobe Bryant card I got. It's probably worth more than the card above even though it's a base card. That being said you can pick it up for under $5 easily.

As with all the card you see on this blog you will need to be a member of one of my grid crunching teams if you ever want a chance to own these. Hopefully this link will give you an idea of what you need to do to be ready for future contest where the prizes will be sealed packs of sports cards and great singles like these. Learn what you need to do here. Remember contests run for 1 month and I do not do them every month.
